What is stress?

Hans Selye, a physician from Quebec, first used the term "stress" during his medical studies at the University of Montreal in the 1920s. He noticed that patients, regardless of the disease they lived with, all had a "sick look". He believed that they were all under physical stress due to their illness.

He then suggested the first definition of stress: a non-specific strain (because any disease can cause this strain) on the body caused by irregularities in its normal functioning. The stress then has a mental (insomnia...) and physical (secretion of cortisol, the stress hormone...) impact on the person. This is what Selye defined as the General Adaptation Syndrome, i.e. the short- and long-term reactions of our body to stress.

There are many tools to manage stress... but before you try any of them, you have to identify it and admit that you are stressed. I will help you spot the sources of stress at work, at home, on the road... and together we will put strategies in place to learn to manage your stress on a daily basis.

What is mental load?

According to the book "La charge mentale des femmes... et des hommes " by Dr. Aurélia Schneider published by Larousse pratique, the concept of mental load seems to characterize women today, forced to think about each and everything, even when it comes to ask for help... The mental load goes from the organization of domestic life, work life and the management of meals, shopping, vacations, meetings and schedules to the acceleration and compression of time...

For whom?

Whether you are single, in a couple, a housewife or a househusband, divorced... you may be facing a mental and/or physiological overload that could lead to burn-out.

I will help you identify and pinpoint the situations that are stressing you out and we will look for the appropriate tools that will prevent you from being overwhelmed by events and tasks.

How?

We will test different tools such as time management or the definition of priorities and/or objectives in order to allow you to take a step back and find a harmonious and less stressful rhythm of life.
